This is my latest portfolio piece. I tried to model a skateboarder as convincingly as possible. He started out as a highpoly model in zbrush and later was normal mapped. Except for the shoes, which were done in max. The normal map was created using xnormal. His final polycount is 6538 triangles, not including the skateboard, which I think was around 700.
A little backstory if your interested:
Jonas is a 16 year old skateboarder growing up in a gated community in suburban Indiana. Him and his buddies favorite pass time is filming themselves skating around the neighborhood pulling off extreme stunts. The local homeowners association has banned skateboarding in the neighborhood claiming they are defacing public property. Which is far from the truth, since Jonas and his buddies go around filling in voids and cracks to make their neighborhood skate-able. Their situation doesn't stop Jonas and his buddies from skating, but their always on the lookout for run ins with the neighborhood security squad and cops. They have been fined several times, which puts a damper on their weekend plans because they need to raise 50 dollars a week for gas money to travel to the nearest skate park.
